8 Easy Ways to Be More Active

The benefits of exercise are cumulative. It all adds up to a healthier, fitter you.

  1. Exercise 1st thing in the morning to start the day off right, raise your metabolism and make it easier to make healthy choices all day long.
  2. Create a Home Gym space in your home to do short, doable boughts of exercise throughout the day.  Everyone can spare 15 minutes! Do 15 min. of push ups, bicep curls and dips in the morning.  15 min. of squats, lunges and dead lifts in the afternoon. 15 min. of crunches and bicycles in the evening add up to a fitter, stronger, healthier body.
  3. Lifestyle Basics that Work: Park farther away when you go to the store, office, market, appt.  Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
  4. Workout with my online fitness classes, join a gym or health club
  5. While watching TV, walk in place, ride a stationary bike, do body weight exercises such as: squats, plank, push ups, lunges, bicycles for the abs, etc. For 100s of exercises, click here
  6. WALK. Walk the dog, walk around your neighborhood, walk up and down the stairs, walk around the house, walk around the mall. Your walking goal is 10,000 steps per day
  7. Put some music on and clean the house.  Bonus! You get fit fit and a clean house!
  8. Grab the family and for Active Play such as: bike riding, skateboarding, rollerblading, tag, scooters, dodge ball, tennis, volleyball, chase, basketball, indoor rock climbing, boxing gym, trampoline park.
